It is indisputable that transport is one of the most important industries today and that they are at their peak due to everything that has happened in recent years. More specifically, air transport has very important applications in today's society and to know its background, we are going to briefly review its evolution:

Human beings had spent many years fantasizing about the idea of making people and objects fly. That enthusiasm led Archytas of Tarentum to build a mechanical pigeon that managed to stay in suspension through air currents. We are talking about the year 400 BC

Over the years, already in the fifteenth century, Giovanni Fontana invented another bird that was able to fly thanks to a rocket. We could say that this was the first jet plane. With Leonardo da Vinci, the first ideas and designs arrived for a man to be inside the machinery and for him to help its operation, but it was not until the 18th century when experiments began to be carried out in a more professional and serious way, applying modern techniques.

Thanks to two brothers, in 1783, a balloon flew over the city of Annonay and this fact can be considered the invention of airships.

A few years later, at the end of the 18th century, George Cayley (father of aerodynamics) invented the glider, a device that managed to stay in the air for a certain amount of time thanks to air currents. The biggest drawback of gliders is their start-up, since, having no motor, they cannot rise by themselves.

With the arrival of inventor Clement Ader, came the airplane. It was not at all an airplane like the ones we know today, but it did have an engine and managed to maintain the flight a sufficient distance to be considered a great technological advance.

Right now, air travel is essential thanks to globalization. Countries are more connected than ever and people can buy products from anywhere in the world. The companies have headquarters more than 5000 km away from each other. Human beings travel for pleasure or work from one end of the planet to another. For all these almost routine tasks, the best transport is air due to its speed.
