Mining is a basic economic activity in modern life due to the large number of utilities that we give them in our routine. Many times (if not most) people do not realize that they are using a certain metal or mineral, but the reality is that they are essential in many of the items we buy.
Metals have to be extracted and that is an activity of the primary sector that allows us to manufacture and enjoy minerals and precious metals in many objects, technology, medicine, energy, textiles... This implies that many people live for and to find most of these scarce goods on the planet. Once located, the companies carry out excavations to extract as much as possible and be able to market with it.
The mining industry has had great growth in the last century and people are still interested in continuing to exploit these goods that we can find on earth because, without them, we would no longer be able to manufacture many devices that we use in our day to day lives.
When we talk about metal mining, we focus and specify those substances considered metallic. These elements are divided into four groups:
- Basic: copper, lead, tin and zinc.
- Ferrous: Iron, cobalt, manganese, molybdenum, tungsten, chrome and titanium.
- Precious: Gold, silver and platinum.
- Radioactive: Plutonium, radium, uranium and thorium.
Without a doubt, the metallic minerals that we use and extract the most today are copper, gold, silver, zinc and lead. There are many elements that we use in our day to day and that fortunately have allowed us to evolve and reach the quality of life that we have today.
If you are interested in making an investment in a company dedicated to metal mining, here you can find a list of the companies that are standing out the most on the stock market in that sector.
