Natural gas is one of the most widely used energy sources today in different areas of society. Most of its use is intended for the industry that uses it on a daily basis to be able to carry out their routine tasks. In these industries, natural gas is used mainly for industrial furnaces that are used to treat metals, bricks, glass, ceramics and other raw materials. It is also used for boilers that generate hot water and steam, widely used in the food sector. To a lesser extent, natural gas is also used as a raw material without the priority being heat generation, but rather the production of hydrogen, ethylene and methanol.

The next place where natural gas is used the most is homes. We could say that gas is necessary in houses to be able to achieve the temperature we want in different applications. The most common and that everyone has in mind is heating.

Depending on the country, even the area of the country and even the orientation of the house, the need to turn on the heating for a longer time varies, but sooner or later, in almost all the world (except in those countries that are always hot) used to raise the temperatures of homes a few degrees.

In addition to heating, there are other appliances in the house that need natural gas to work and provide the service they promise, such as the washing machine that needs to heat the water or the dryer that gives off heat to dry the clothes.

Regarding the advantages of natural gas compared to other fossil fuels, we can affirm that natural gas is the least polluting and, therefore, it is the one that respects the environment the most. It also has a fairly low and mostly constant price and access to it is very simple thanks to the gas pipelines that reach homes and industries from the countries of extraction.
